“Tiles” prototypes a structural, reconfigurable roof component that uses interlocking edges of composite hexagonal units. When aggregated into groups of three or more, the tiles interact with structural reciprocity. Each roof tile uses its ceramic upper portion to create this interlock while relying on the folded metal lower portion to increase the tile’s depth (and spanning capability) while keeping it relatively lightweight.
